Eltrym.
The silver tree of the wood. It has been said that the Eltrym tree is over a hundred thousand years old. It's trunk is nigh on five feet across, it's branches reach almost two stories into the air. It's branches are covered in tiny golden buds in the spring, which burst into bloom in late summer and early fall. The fragrance from these tiny white flowers, Lunar Blooms, is so magnetic that it draws all the woodland animals to it's clearing each fall, each one in a trance-like state. There is no killing on the day the flowers fall to the ground in death. They bloom only for three sacred days where all animals fast and only sit in a ring around the Eltrym tree. Concerns are adressed each day, singing and such carring ons are at night. But when the flowers fall, each animal mourns and goes on it's way. The next day, each animal is out to try and replace the empty hunger knawing at it from the three days of fasting.
The tree is thought to bestow powers upon those it and the Keeper deem worthy.
Rukia
A silver vixen with her trademark blaze down her snout. She's a small, flighty thing. Her body light, swift and slender. She bends in the wind instead of standing ridgid like her befriended tree. She happened upon the Eltrym tree when it was only a sapling sprouting it's first buds. She was caught under the spell as a young whelp. The power the tree bestowed upon her was eternal life, which the tree also gave itself. The tree speaks in whispering giggles, only deciphered by Rukia. None can translate the achient language of trees save those who where there thousands of years before to learn from the first speaking tree. Each animal that comes forth to the tree and its Keeper upon entering Eltrym is blessed, or cursed with a power. Often times the power is the deciding factor between the lights, darks and neutrals. Good powers given to those pure of heart, Cruel intentions placed upon darklings and peacekeeping ways handed to the neutrals.
The Legacy
Rukia has never been seen outside the clearing where the Eltrym grows. It's a sacred little grove hidden in the midst of the trees so tall, their shadows cast a never-ending darkness on the ground. How the tree grows is unknown, but the Lunar flowers revel in the darkness, for they only bloom at night. If one dies, so shall the other, which is why Eltrym gave Rukia eternal life. They shall be here forever more, in the shaded wood, listening to the whispering voices of the trees who's voices still can make themselves heard.
