Not all scars show
Not all wounds heal
The creak of muscles, a silent crackle of the dry grass, a whoosh and all was silent once more. There lay a fox, feasting on the dead body of a small mouse, ripping ravenously at it's mangled and bedraggled body. Food was food and the vixen was starving, you could see her skeletal frame peak from he creamy fur that was not the pure white it was to begin with.
Bittersweet was exhausted, just from that one kill of a mouse and she was tired. She didn't seem to have any energy anymore... to do anything. The only thing that kept her going was the fact that there were rumours popping up about a tree that granted powers... She scoffed as she thought about that. Powers? Impossible... as if, and there was probably a catch to go along with it... foolishness.
Still though, with no destination in sight and no other objective except to get away from her old group, she had left, left from their taunting remarks and their howls of laughter as she told them that she were leaving... it was as clear as day as the alpha stated in a drawling voice as if she could survive for the exact words he meant. She would show them... she'd show them who she really was!
A bitter smile darted across her face, speaking of her pain and her trials yet masking her emotions. No one would ever understand her, and so with sunken eyes and dragging limbs she stumbled forth, her tail limp and lifeless, reflecting the owner behind the lifeless eyes. The gold in them was fading, barely visible along the sea of dull brown. It was hard to see unless you were standing in front of her, yet Bittersweet had no care for her appearance... who was there to see her anyways? A tree?
With a customary bitter look about her features she broke the treeline, coming upon a magnificent looking tree that froze her limbs for a second. Was this the Eldrym tree? The one that she had chased the rumours over the countryside for? Bah, she was getting paranoid and Bittersweet shook it from her head, only to regret it as her past once again rehashed her tortured heart. A cold numbness spread interestingly throughout her exhausted limbs and Bittersweet barely was able to get to the bottom of the tree, collapsing in a flurry of white fur, though it had a light brown hue to it... signifying the neglect care she had for it, the fur tangled in knots and other things she had encountered throughout her travels.
Just a quick rest... Bittersweet dare not close her eyes for she knew what she would see beneath her lids... of course it was always there, lurking, waiting... waiting for the oppurtune moment to strike and sink it's fangs into her delicate mentality. Leaving her drowning in a pool of insanity, scratching, clawing for air.
Still uncontrollable her lids closed over her eyes, before snapping open again, her breaths coming slightly deeper, she was reliving it again and she'd be d**ned if she was going to close her eyes again, and so settling in for the slight reprieve that this giant tree and it's branches provided for her she sighed bitterly.
Sometimes you can't always see
The pain someone feels
